It was a baptism of fire for Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor as they were hammered 4-1 in a club friendly against Spartak Moscow – in Onazi Ogenyi’s first official game since he returned from the world cup.
Played at a neutral ground in Austria – the Stadion Villach-Lind – it was the Turkish team that took the lead, in the opening 10 minutes.
But Spartak responded, scoring twice and late in the first and the second halves; in almost similar fashions to hand to calm the Black Sea Storm.
Onazi had returned to the club after he was involved in the World Cup with Nigeria.
The midfielder did not play a game in Russia, but strolled right back into Trabzonspor’s matchday squad and played 90 minutes.
