Ondo State Government Urges Sunshine Stars to Secure Victory Against Sporting Lagos

The Ondo State Government has thrown its weight behind the Nigeria Premier Football League side Sunshine Stars, urging them to clinch victory in their upcoming match against Sporting Lagos.

Sara Yusuf-Ogunleye, the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, emphasized the importance of securing maximum points in the game during a conversation with journalists.

Yusuf-Ogunleye urged the players to give their all and strive for victory in the crucial tie, highlighting the significance of their current position in the league standings.

With Sunshine Stars currently occupying the 14th position on the NPFL table with 35 points from 28 matches, every game becomes pivotal for their quest to climb up the rankings.

The match, scheduled for matchday 30, is set to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Yusuf-Ogunleye stressed the need for the team to leverage their experience and prowess to secure the full three points at stake in Lagos.

“I have been following the team; they are not doing badly, but due to their present position on the table, it is of the essence to ensure that they use their wealth of experience to get the maximum three points at stake in the match in Lagos,” he stated.

With the support and encouragement from the state government, Sunshine Stars will be looking to deliver a commendable performance as they face Sporting Lagos in their quest for victory.
