Only in form players will be invited for Seychelles, Egypt games. –Gernot Rohr

Date:

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has stated that the coaching crew and the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation will only invite the fittest and in form players for the games between Nigeria and Seychelles and Egypt in March in Asaba the Delta state capital.

The Super Eagles will face Seychelles in her final 2019 AFCON qualifying dead rubber game on the 22nd of March while the international friendly match against Egypt comes up on the 26th of March, four days later.

Speaking with footballlive.ng Rohr insisted that the best crop of players will be invited. “We will invite the fittest players in the next games against Seychelles and Egypt and the best ones will play. We will base our invite on what they are doing with their clubs and we know what they did with us and we are not forgetting it.”

The national team gaffer has been condemned by many for overlooking several players plying their trade in the nation’s top league but Rohr has stated that he is certainly open to inviting players that can add value to the team.

“With what I have seen in the games I think it is interesting, I have also seen the results of Rangers and Lobi Stars on the African club competition. I and my assistants are always watching now, Imama and Alloy Agu are also watching. If there are really good players we will invite them.” He said
