21 years old Nigerian Born Henry Onyekuru spoke to footballive about his experience, not only coming up against the only African to win the World Footballer Of The Year Award and incumbent Liberia President, George Weah but also marking the occasion with his first goal for the Super Eagles.
On how he felt coming up against a George Weah led Lone Stars of Liberia, Onyekuru told www.footballlive.ng “For me, It was a great honour and privilege to play against one of Africa’s living football legend and Liberia President, George Uppong Weah.”
He went on to describe it as a spectacular experience coming up against one of the players he grew up looking up to and then also getting his first goal for the Super Eagles.
“It is was great encounter, though it wasn’t an easy match but at the end it was a great game for both parties involved”
I am happy for the victory which is key to me and also to the entire team as a few of us used the opportunity to stake claim for a regular shirt in the National Team
The Everton loanee concluded by saying he would continue to give a hundred percent hard work and effort in order to consistently improve his game and thereby move his career forward.
