Galatasaray of Turkey summer arrival, Henry Onyekuru has admitted that he was totally excited to score his first goal for the club, and declared that it is the beginning of greater things for him and the team.
The former KAS Eupen and RSC Anderlecht of Belgium attacker said he was glad to start off on a glorious note with the Turkish Super Lig club and dedicated to the club’s fans, who he said showed him love from his first day with the team.
After entering the game in the 61st minute and quickly scored in the 69th minute, Onyekuru is now hoping on making a bigger impact with the Istanbul-based side.
The attacker-cum-winger, who is on a season-long loan deal from Everton of England, stated the high level of his delight after he scored in his new club’s 2-1 loss to Valencia on Saturday in a pre-season friendly.
He said: “I am excited to score for my new club. The goal is for the fans who showed me love since I arrived at ‘Gala’. They have been supportive and they let me know that I am at home.”
