Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru is targeting a glorious debut in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend, as he wants to hit a goal in his side’s opening match of the new season against Ankaragucu.
Though his side lost the Turkish Super Cup last weekend, Onyekuru says they have put that defeat behind them and is happy that they have a newly promoted club to contend with, in what will be his first competitive match for Galatasaray, since arriving from RSC Anderlecht of Belgium.
Ahead of The Yellow Reds’ season opener against Ankaragucu at Osmanlı Stadı on Friday, Onyekuru took to social media to herald his preparedness for the encounter.
It will be Onyekuru’s first competitive match for Galatasaray, since joining the Turk Telekom Stadı outfit on loan from Everton of England in July.
While on loan last season at Anderlecht, the 21-year-old was impressive before he a knee injury ended his surge, but he has now hit the ground running at Gala and netted two goals in pre-season.
“Beautiful training session before the start of this season. Looking forward to this opportunity,” Onyekuru posted.
