New arrival at Galatasaray of Turkey, Henry Onyekuru has admitted that he is finding the setting and training at the Turkish Super Lig club difficult, but says he is determined to get over it and settle down fast.
Onyekuru, who cancelled his loan deal at RSC Anderlecht to switch over to Galatasaray in a similar agreement from Everton of England, said he is focused of making the best of his move to Istanbul and wants to succeed in the coming season.
Fortunately, Onyekuru scored in his very first match for Gala, after which he said he is very optimistic of enacting such great form ahead of the new season, following his lone strike against Valencia of Spain.
The former GBS academy protégé, who had a stint in Qatar with Aspire Academy, after also trying out with Surulere Football Academy of Lagos, said he is ready to work hard and earn his place in Gala’s starting 11, despite competition from the like of Bafetimbi Gomis.
He said: “I feel great after such a long time; the feeling of having to be on the score sheet again is amazing and I hope to take it into the new season.
“Obviously, training here has been a little bit different but I have been showing what I can do. Breaking into the first team will be difficult but I’m determined to give it my all and help the club to win laurels this season.”
