Washington Spirit of USA winger, Francesca Ordega has confessed that she and other players in the Nigerian national team, Super Falcons, would give more effort in matches if they are motivated with money.
In an apparent reference to reported neglect from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before they traveled to Ghana for the current Africa Women Cup of Nations, Ordega admitted they feel better when money flows their way from the officials.
Footballlive.ng gathered further, ahead of the Falcons’ AWCON 2018 semi-final clash with Cameroon on Tuesday, that the players were banking on victory to get a rain of cash from the NFF.
Ordega acknowledged that the urge to beat any team would be truly enhanced by promises of cash and fatter bonuses coming their way.
The former Atletico Madrid of Spain female team star stressed that money is the main motivation for the players, especially when they remember that fatter winning bonuses make it easier for them to fend for their respective families back home in Nigeria.
“Money is the main motivation. If we win, we get more money from the government, from the NFF and that will help us to take care of some of our family responsibilities,” Ordega submitted.
