Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup revelation, Orji Okonkwo has changed clubs in Italy, as the enterprising youngster has sealed a move to Brescia from Bologna.
Confirmation of Okonkwo’s new base came when Brescia announced their signing of the youth international few hours before the close of the January transfer window on Wednesday.
However, Okonkwo’s deal with The Biancoazzurri is on loan until June 30, 2018, with the club obtaining an option to buy the player at the end of the season.
Brescia pulled off a transfer coup to lure Okonkwo to the club as he was heavily linked with a transfer to Avellino.
The youngster has scored 3 goals in 10 Serie A matches wearing the jersey of Bologna and was the second most efficient striker in the Italian top-flight in the first half of the season.
The Football College Abuja product has the honour of being the youngest Nigerian scorer in all of Europe’s top five leagues this season, after finding the net against Sassuolo in September, aged 19 years, eight months and five days.
