Nigerian forward Osaguona Ighodaro has returned to Umm Salal training after being sidelined with an injury for 12 days, Footballlive.ng can reveal.
The 27-year-old had been knocked down with a hamstring injury in a Qatar Stars League week one match against Al Sailiya, missing out one game in the process.
But the highly-rated Nigerian striker returned to the team’s training ground earlier in the week after recovering from the setback and says he’s excited to be back.
“It’s a big relief for me and I’m happy to be back training again, he told Footballlive.ng.
“For me it has been been pretty difficult in the last 12 days but I’m better and feeling no pains.
“The medics have advised that I sit out this weekend’s match with Al Ahli. I won’t be involved but am targeting a return against Al Arabi.
The former Raja Casablanca striker started the opening game against Al Sailiya at the Khalifa International Stadium on August 4.
He had to be replaced by Tilal Ali Ali in the 26th minute after he picked up the hamstring injury.
