Bright Osayi-Samuel played a key role for Fenerbahce as they secured a 4-3 victory over Swiss club Lugano in the UEFA Champions League second-round first-leg tie on Tuesday.
Osayi-Samuel started the match and was substituted in the 68th minute by Fenerbahce’s new coach, Jose Mourinho.
Former Manchester City and Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick for Fenerbahce. Lugano initially took the lead through Ayman El Wafi in the 4th minute.
However, Dzeko equalized in first-half stoppage time and added another goal shortly after halftime to put Fenerbahce ahead 2-1.
Uran Bislimi brought Lugano level again in the 64th minute, but Dzeko completed his hat-trick just three minutes later, restoring Fenerbahce’s lead.
Ferdi Kadioglu extended the lead to 4-2 in the 74th minute. Lugano’s Milton Valenzuela scored a late goal in the 94th minute, ending the match at 4-3.
