Oshoala Counts On Dennerby’s Experience, Tactics

Date:

FC Barcelona of Spain January singing, Asisat Oshoala has disclosed her high level of confidence in the Nigerian national, Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby, as she believes his experience and tactics will help them at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Although Oshoala admitted Dennerby faced some teething problems at the start of his tenure with the Falcons, footballlive.ng can report that the lass, who is on loan from Dalian Quanjian of China at Barca, says the Swedish tactician has now fully settled down with the squad.

However, ‘SuperDee’ is advocating better preparations for the Falcons, before they head out to France 2019, as she recounted how their inability to stay in camp together for longer periods also affected their rhythm.

Nonetheless, the dark-skinned star from Ikorodu, Lagos State, who has also played for FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt as well as Arsenal and Liverpool of Englad, hopes participation at the upcoming Cyprus Invitational and WAFU Cup will help the Falcons blend.

The three-time African Women Footballer of The Year then stressed that Dennerby’s previous experience at the Mundial will come in handy for the Nigerians, as he has a bronze medal to show, after leading Sweden to third place at the competition in 2011.

Oshoala noted: “It’s not been easy for (Dennerby), not having us together for a while (but) I think he (now) has enough time to get us ready

“Now he’s had the chance to take charge of us at a tournament, see what young players are ready to make the step up.

“He has World Cup experience. He’s taken charge of plenty of big teams and tactically he knows the game at the top level.”
