Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has matched the legendary Diego Maradona’s scoring achievement for the club by securing a hat-trick in their 6-1 triumph over Sassuolo.
According to Opta, Osimhen becomes the third Napoli player in history to achieve ten or more goals for four consecutive seasons, a feat previously accomplished by Maradona from 1984 to 1988.
Attila Sallustro was the first to set this record between 1929/30 and 1932/33. Osimhen, who scored 10 goals in his first season, followed up with 14 and 26 in the subsequent two seasons. The 25-year-old has already netted 11 goals in 15 Serie A appearances this term.
