Sporting Charleroi of Belgium attacker, Victor Osimhen has confessed that he felt very special being with the Super Eagles for their past international duties, and pledged to always cherish such moments.
After getting his first start for Nigeria in Tuesday’s international friendly against Uganda, footballllive.ng gathered that Osimhen is excited with the opportunity of playing for Nigeria at senior level.
Although he could not replicate his club level scoring form in a goalless draw, Osimhen said he is looking forward to better days ahead of him in the Eagles, which he described a ‘a happy family.’
The Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer also hailed what he called ‘the family spirit’ in the Eagles’ camp, which he said is one of the secrets behind their qualification for the African Cup of Nations.
Osimhen declared: “It’s very special to be in the Nigeria squad. I feel fortunate to be in this team because we all know each other very well.
“We’re friends off the field. I think that’s very important, because if you’re a team you want to be like a family. And we are (a family).”
