Sporting Charleroi of Belgium attacker, Victor Osimhen has received a charge from ex-Super Eagles’ winger, Garba ‘Chindo’ Lawal to pick any chance that comes his way in the national team.
Speaking against the backdrop of Monday’s inclusion of Osimhen’s name in the latest list of invitees to the Eagles’ camp, Lawal acknowledged that the lad on loan from VfL Wolfsburg of Germany has hit top form in Belgium, but said he has to repeat that form in the national camp.
Lawal added Tuesday morning on a radio sports programme monitored by footballlive.ng that Osimhen will even have to do more than other invited players, since the youngster wants to take over spots that are already occupied, stressing that only extra hard work will make his way.
Lawal retorted: “I am happy that Victor Osimhen has been invited to the Super Eagles, he is young, he is good, he is ambitious.
“He is doing well now with his club, but the national team is different. He will have to work extra hard to justify his call up.
“At the same time, it is not every coach that is ready to give you time to settle down, so Victor has to take any chance that comes his way.
“He must take every chance, he must use every opportunity to make his mark and he must continue to work very hard.”
