Sporting Charleroi of Belgium attacker, Victor Osimhen is set for an early Christmas holiday, as his club’s top brass want him to stay out of their last two matches of 2018.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Charleroi are concerned about Osimhen’s physical condition, following a knock he copped last weekend and have decided to leave him out of their next game against Zulte-Waregem.
This comes after had to be substituted late in Charleroi’s 2-0 win over KAA Gent last Friday after bowing over in pain.
Dramatically, Osimhen, who is on loan at Charleroi from VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, scored his ninth goal in all competitions against Gent.
Although Osimhen insists he only suffered a cramp, Charleroi’s coach, Felice Mazzù was awaiting results of a scan on Monday to determine the lad’s fitness situation.
The coach, though, went on to affirm that they will not risk Osimhen for Sunday’s match and the next, thereby leading to an early holiday for the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer.
Mazzù stated: ”We may lose Victor Osimhen for the next few weeks, and everyone has seen what impact the latter has on our game.
”This is the lot of all the teams, but we have players to replace the injured and the suspended.”
