Napoli’s Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, proved to be the catalyst for their remarkable second-half resurgence in a thrilling 4-2 victory against Monza at Stadio Briantio.
Trailing 1-0 early on after Milan Djuric’s opener for Monza, Osimhen rose to the occasion in the 55th minute with a towering header that leveled the score, demonstrating his athleticism and determination.
However, the goal came at a cost as Osimhen landed awkwardly after his leap, briefly leaving him in agony on the ground. This didn’t stop the defending champions from relenting.
Just two minutes later, Osimhen’s strike partner, Matteo Politano, scored a goal-of-the-season contender with a stunning volley, inspired by the Nigerian’s heroics.
Osimhen’s influence continued to reverberate throughout the match as Napoli seized control, with Piotr Zielinski and Giacomo Raspadori adding to the tally to secure the victory.
