Date:

Nigerian-born American female soccer star, Antionette Oyedupe Payne has joined Sevilla Women FC in the Spanish Primera División.

Sevilla FC Femenino have strengthened their ranks by signing the USA-born Oak Mountain product, who has caps for United States at U15, U17 and U23 levels and has trained with the U20 squad as well.

She is the third player signed by Sevilla ahead of the new season following the arrivals of Pancha Lara and Noelia Ramos.

The 23-year-old joins Sevilla from AFC Ajax, whom she helped win the Ditch Eredivisie title and the KNVB Beker title in the last two seasons after joining the club in May 2017.

Payne displayed her wares in last season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, making appearances against Brescia, Pärnu and Standard Liege, and will now hope to excel with Sevilla Women, who finished 12th in the Primera División Femenina last season.
