Rangers manager Philippe Clement has lauded the indispensable contribution of Leon Balogun in the team’s resounding 2-0 triumph over Heart in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
Balogun, making his first start since February, assumed his role at the heart of the Light Blues’ defense alongside John Souttar.
The 33-year-old’s performance was exceptional, with his experience and composure proving invaluable to the Gers’ defensive solidity.
“I think he [Leon Balogun] was massive today, he played a really good game in the coaching and in the duels with his hunger and desire, so I know I have four really good centre-backs and this season they have all played,” Clement expressed in an interview with Rangers TV.
Looking ahead, Clement said teamwork will be important as they chase the title.
