PHOTO: Rangers blazes the trail with Physio Centre

Seven-time Nigerian league champions, Rangers International F.C is blazing the trails again as it took delivery of physiotherapy machines running into several millions of naira from Enugu state government to set up the first Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre.

Receiving the machines from the supplier, Tuesday, at Rangers Players’ camp, Nkponkiti Road, Independence Layout, Enugu, commissioner for Youth and Sports, Enugu state, Honourable Joseph Udedi, described the gesture of the governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in procuring the machines for Rangers as a show of his love for the club stressing, “This is a further show of our governor’ love and dedication for sports generally in Enugu state and our darling club, Rangers International F.C. With this, I am very sure that our sports men and women will have a feel of first grade treatment for all sports related injuries for better output.”

Also speaking at the occasion, G.M/CEO of Rangers, Prince Davidson Owumi said, “I am indeed very proud of our dear governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in providing these high tech machines for use by our club. It would surely form another level of motivation for my players going forward. I strongly believe that we would have less injury worries when the league resumes. This is the first of its kind in Nigeria and don’t forget that a football club lacking in good medical department is way off the mark.”

A clinical specialist, Lizanne Marais in company of the Managing Director of the company that supplied the machines, Pieter Veraney, who took members of the medical team of the club through some tutorials on the use of the machines, said, “These are machines brought in to help players and sports men and women get over sports injuries more quickly and I am really pleased that it is been set up here.”

Some of the machines are; Chattanooga Wireless Pro, Mobile Ultrasound, Mobile Laser, Intelect Shockwave and many other machines.

Representative of the company that supplied the machines in Nigeria, Chika Chuka, while fielding questions, said, “I am very glad and impressed with the milestone achieved by Rangers International F.C through the governor of the state. I am a Rangers through and through and I hope to continue doing my utmost to ensure that the club does not lack medical attention when I am contacted. This is the first of its kind and I am glad that my Rangers made another first.”
