Kano Pillars have confirmed defender, Chinedu Udoji was involved in a fatal car accident on Sunday after the NPFL match against Enyimba in Kano.
Udoji, a former player of Enyimba, was on his way back from visiting his former teammates when the crash occured.
Pillars tweeted: Chinedu Udoji was involved in a car accident yesterday after visiting his former team mates at Enyimba. This tragic accident happened along Club Road in Kano. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country.
Enyimba also tweeted their condolence at the passing of the “club Legend and former captain”.
“We are distraught at the news of the passing of club legend and former captain, Chinedu Udoji. Our commiserations are with his family at this time.”
Udoji won the league and Federation Cup with the Elephants of Aba before joining Pillars in the 2016 league season.
