Pillars winger Bature hopeful of a better next season

Date:

Kano Pillars winger Yaro Bature is looking ahead to a better 2018/19 season after losing the Aiteo Cup in 2018.

According to the forward, the near-miss of last season will spur the team to better success next season.
“The team played some very good football last season and I will not be wrong to say ‘we were the best side in the country despite not winning the league or Aiteo Cup’,” he told Footballlive.ng.
“The lads were also involved in some high scoring games which proved that we had a very good attack and in those games you could see how good we were when things clicked for us.
“I know for sure that at the end of the day we did not win anything. But we finished as runners-up in the Aiteo Cup.
“I believe the way we ended the season made the fans sad but overall, I am sure most of them will agree with me that we took good steps forward as a unit.
“We can go one better next season and I know all the players would fight to use the disappointment of this season to give 100% next season.”
Pillars are at home to Heartland in the week one of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday.
