Mfon Udoh has embraced the challenge of fighting for a regular place in the Super Eagles after only a second senior team invitation and admits it came as a surprise.
Udoh, who is captain of Enyimba; Nigeria’s only surviving club in this season’s CAF Club competitions, was named as one of four NPFL stars called up for Tuesday’s international friendly against Liberia.
The striker only recently returned from a long injury lay-off and has been plagued by several in his career.
He though remains one of the most deadly players in front of goal.
He expressed gratitude for the second chance in an interview with www.scorenigeria.com
“It was something I never anticipated would come my way this quick after my first call-up to (national) camp where I had to be dropped because of injury while in camp,” he said.
