Promising Nigerian Midfielder dumps Turkey for Egypt

Date:

Promising Nigerian midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu has joined Egyptian club side, Pyramids FC, after three seasons in Turkey.

Azubuike, 21, joined the Egypt Premier League side from Yeni Malatyaspor.

He signed a two-year deal with the ambitious club for a fee in the region of €2million, per SCORENigeria.

The former Bayelsa United player showed top potential in his three season campaign with the modest Turkish side, helping gain promotion to the Super Lig two seasons ago.

On Friday, Pyramids FC sacked its Brazilian coach Alberto Valentino and instantly announced the appointment of little known Ricardo Lagolbei.

The club is owned by Turki Al-Sheikh, who is an adviser at the Royal Court under the rank of Minister and Chairman of the General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia.
