Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has expressed his excitement after scoring his first UEFA Champions League goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday.
Boniface’s Champions League journey began earlier this season when Bayer Leverkusen secured a dominant 4-0 win against Feyenoord.
Although he did not score in that match, he delivered an impressive performance, showcasing his potential on the European stage.
However, the Super Eagles star found the back of the net against AC Milan, scoring the only goal of the match and helping his side secure their second win of the competition.
In an interview with Oma Akatugha after the match, Boniface shared his feelings about the achievement: “I feel good, this is what most young players from Africa dream of, to represent yourself and your club on the big stage.
I’m really proud of myself and happy we got the win. That’s the most important thing, I’m happy with the goal as well.”
Boniface has established himself as a prolific striker in Xavi Alonso’s squad, contributing significantly to the team this season with five goals and one assist.
