Rabiu Ali Continues NPFL Scoring Record

Date:

Former Super Eagles star, Rabiu Ali has once again etched his name into the history books as the oldest goalscorer in NPFL (Nigeria Professional Football League) history.

Ali, aged 43, delivered a crucial goal for Kano Pillars in their 1-0 victory over ten-man Rivers United.

In a game where the Pride of Rivers defended with their might against the famous Kano fans in a packed stadium, Anthony Ohaegbu’s controversial 74th-minute red card added to their challenges.

As the match seemed destined for a stalemate, Ali, the ageless veteran, made his mark.

In the second minute of added time, he unleashed a stunning left-footed effort into the net, leaving goalkeeper Abiodun Akande helpless.

The Sani Abacha Stadium erupted with joy as Kano Pillars celebrated their first win of the season which was provided by the legendary ‘Pele’, a son of the soil.

Prior to this victory, they had recorded two draws and a defeat in their three previous games.

Rabiu Ali’s enduring skill and determination continues to inspire football fans across the country.
