Rangers’ manager, Philippe Clement, confirmed that defender Leon Balogun sustained a muscle injury during the team’s recent home win against Kilmarnock.
The 35-year-old Nigerian international delivered a solid performance in the first half but was substituted by Ben Davies after the break due to the injury. Clement expressed hope that the injury is minor but noted Balogun’s struggle to continue playing.
He was quoted by Rangers Review saying, “Yes he (Balogun) was injured, that is why I had to replace him. I hope it is a small muscle injury.” Clement added, “We will see in the next couple of days. But he struggled too much to continue.”
Leon Balogun has made 14 league appearances for Rangers this season.
