Super Eagles midfielder, Raphael Onyedika helped secure an important 1-0 away win for Club Brugge against Ausrtian side, Sturm Graz in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old has been in great form, and he set up Christos Tzolis for the only goal of the match in the 23rd minute.
This win is especially important for Brugge, as it marks their first victory in the 2024/25 Champions League after losing 3-0 to Borussia Dortmund in their first game.
Brugge struggled to extend their lead, with Sturm Graz goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen making several outstanding saves in the second half.
Nevertheless, Brugge’s defense held firm, kept a clean sheet to secure all three points.
Raphael Onyedika was recently named Club Brugge’s Best Player for September.
The Nigerian international beat out stiff competition from teammates Hans Vanaken, Simon Mignolet, and Tzolis for the honor.
Up next for Onyedika is to get called up for the potential involvement in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
