Super Eagles striker Odion Jude Ighalo scored twice today in the Chinese Super League to extend his tally to 20 goals in the ongoing season only second to Wu Lei of Shanghai SIPG who is on 21 goals.
Ighalo’s Changchun Yatai played a 3 – 3 away to Tianjin Teda who pays the bills Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi. Ighalo opened the scoring for Yatai in the 11th minute before converting a penalty in the 65th minute.
The camp of the Super Eagles will be thrown open on Monday October 8 and Nigerians will be hoping that Ighalo will be able to replicate his club form for the Super Eagles on Saturday October 13 in Uyo when the team squares up against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the first leg of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double header.
Ighalo last scored for the Eagles on the 1st of August 2017 when Nigeria whitewashed Cameroon 4 – 0 in Uyo on their way to qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
