Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has expressed his confidence in his team’s chances of clinching the Nigeria Premier Football League title this season.
Following a 2-1 home victory against Rivers United on Monday, the Ikenne club now sits just one point behind league leaders, Rangers.
Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has downplayed the team’s title aspirations despite being at the top of the table. In contrast, Ogunmodede remains optimistic about Remo Stars’ goal to secure the title.
“I think it (the title) is in view because my friend (Fidelis Ilechukwu) said they are still building, so, we are trying to capitalize on the fact that they are building and we are trying to get the trophy,” expressed Ogunmodede to the club’s media.
With Remo Stars finishing as runners-up in the NPFL last season, Ogunmodede’s belief in his team’s ability to compete at the highest level reflects their ambition to clinch the league title this season.
