Ondo State Government has mandated Sunshine Stars Technical Crew and management qualify the team for continental football at the end of the new 2018/2019 football season.
The chairman of the club, Mr tanjudeen Akinyemi promise to assist the new coach to achieve set goal of getting continental ticket while promising a new and robust sunshine team ahead of the new season.
Earlier, Chairman Sunshine Stars football Club, Mr. Tajudeen Akinyemi also said that Mr. Dogo had been hired to head the technical crew of Sunshine Stars.
He added that the new coach had tutored Nasarawa United for five years, during which they qualified to hoist Nigeria’s flag in continental competition.
Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye made the call today after a new Sunshine Stars Technical Crew led by Kabir Dogo Suleiman was introduced to him.
The Commissioner said only results could justify the huge investment the government was making on the team and meet supporters yearnings.
We do not expect anything short of a run of good results throughout the season.
Sunshine Stars need to rediscover the form that took them to continental football a few years ago.
Being the the only team being funded by government in the South West, the team has to do well.”
The reorganisation that took place was a child of necessity due to the teams dismal performance in the last two seasons.
The choice of Coach Dogo Suleiman by the management is a welcome development it is known he has a track record of achievements.
We look forward to him replicating such here.
I am advising both the coaching crew and management to work together as a single unit so that we can achieve our desired dreams together .
Mr. Ogunleye assured that the government was available to support the team in it’s desire to achieve its goals.
