Rivers Angels head coach Whyte Ogbonda is overjoyed after ending his trophyless run.
Ogbonda’s Rivers Angels won the 2024 Women’s President Federation Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Naija Ratels on Saturday.
Blessing Okpe scored the winning goal from the penalty spot late in the first half.
Previously, Coach Whyte Ogbonda had lost twice in the final during his time in charge of Ibom Angels.
“The match wasn’t an easy one because I wasn’t expecting an easy game from Naija Ratels,” Ogbonda said.
He concluded, “I’ve joined a team like Rivers Angels where I have experienced and young players capable of winning trophies. There was pressure on me to win, and I am happy today to have broken the jinx as a trophyless coach.”
