Rivers United has announced the appointment of Finidi George as their new head coach, with an official unveiling scheduled for Thursday.
The 54-year-old former Super Eagles coach will take the helm at Rivers United, succeeding Stanley Eguma, who was dismissed towards the end of the previous season.
The unveiling ceremony will be held at Rivers United’s secretariat in Port Harcourt.
Finidi George returns to club management comes shortly after he stepped down as the head coach of the Super Eagles.
Prior to his spell with the national team, he managed Enyimba, guiding them to a Nigeria Premier Football League title in the 2022/23 season during his three-year tenure.
Rivers United are looking to bounce back from a disappointing eighth-place finish in the NPFL last season with Finidi’s experience and leadership.
