Super Eagles technical adviser, Genrot Rohr has declared that he will be banking on his array of young and determined players to make a difference in Saturday’s match against South Africa.
Although footballlive.ng can report that the Franco-German tactician admitted that several injuries mean he is without some key players fro Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg, Rohr said it is time for other lads in his squad to step up.
Rohr enthused that the lads he has available for the game will step out to be counted in the absence of the injured lot, which he acknowledged was a huge setback heading into the game.
Rohr rued the injuries and suspension that has robbed him of four of his regulars for Saturday’s decisive qualifier against Bafana Bafana, but says he is comforted that the situation has presented opportunities for some others to show the stuff they are equally made of.
Rohr stated: “We have a number of injuries and one suspension. But we cannot continue to talk about that.
“We must look at the personnel with us now and see the situation as opportunity for them to step up and prove what they can do.
“I am happy we have a young team determined to achieve. Everyone here is good enough to represent Nigeria and they will go in there and do the job.”
