Coach Gernot Rohr has praised his Nigeria side after they saw off Libya 3-2 in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Tuesday night.
Nigeria found their second away win in Group E after a brace from Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa’s goal saw off the Mediterranean Knights in Sfax.
The Super Eagles are now only one point above second place South Africa with two games to go and coach Rohr praised his players for the win at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri.
Rohr told Footballlive.ng, “I compliment the boys. For this match, but also for the last few days. During training sessions they all did very well. That’s not easy after a long week.
“After winning two games against the same opposition we have done well. Now we are heading in the right direction. Our mind is on the next game against South Africa.”
Next up for the Super Eagles is a potentially–explosive duel with Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a top-of-the-table clash at Johannesburg’s Soccer City on 17th November.
