Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has declared that qualifying for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations is his top priority with the team, as gathered by footballlive.ng.
The Franco-German tactician stressed that his big target is to ensure that the Eagles return to the continental soccer showpiece, which he believes the players will help him realise by putting in their best efforts to help the team qualify for next year’s edition in Cameroon.
Rohr enthused that the future is bright for Nigeria in the round leather game, as he believes the Eagles have a bright chance of making it to AFCON 2019, with good results against Libya and Seychelles.
The former Niger Republic, Gabon and Burkina Faso handler further projected that 2019 will be a better year for Nigeria on the football pitch, as he says playing at the Nations Cup in Cameroon will set the stage for better things at all levels of the game next year.
Rohr disclosed further that all his players are hungry to achieve great things for Nigeria, because they are all still young.
He believes the team’s youthfulness will help take Nigeria to the AFCON showpiece in Cameroon, after missing out of the last two editions.
“There are abundant pool of players that I can choose from for national team duties.
“Any of the players can get the job done as we enter the crucial bend of the qualification for AFCON.
“The boys are hungry and youthful. That’s the major driving force that will propel the Super Eagles to the AFCON.”
