Gernot Rohr knows he must start the most in-form players he has in Seychelles to ensure the Super Eagles get a win against their hosts on Saturday in 2019 AFCON qualifying match, according to midfielder Ikenna Hillary Paul.
With several top names, the likes of Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong out of the crucial game, Paul insists Rohr has his work cut out.
Nigeria stands third behind Libya and South Africa in group E after losing their opening game of the qualifying match to Bafana Bafana and now need a win to get back on track.
Paul said the Super Eagles gaffer has several players capable of stepping up the plate and filling the voids of the absentees, but the onus rests on Rohr to give them a chance on Saturday in Victoria.
‘The Coach knows he needs to win against Seychelles and, I believe, he must feel the pressure now that these key players aren’t available.
‘Iwobi, Ekong and Aina would have added some spring to our steps in the game but now the Coach must look to those in-form players in the squad; the likes of Omeruo and John Ogu need to play,’ He quipped.
