Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has hinted he would be able to invite home-based players to his team once the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) calendar is streamlined with that of Europe.
Footballlive.ng reports that Rohr’s biggest grouse with the league is that the season does not accord players opportunities of being active during the domestic season as those who are based abroad.
The Franco-German gaffer inadvertently gave the organisers, League Management Company (LMC) a task of ensuring they rearrange the fixtures’ schedule, in order to accord home-based players the chance of getting Eagles’ invitations.
Rohr declared emphatically: “There is a problem with the organization of the championship.
“I want to see a good championship, a good league and then I have my assistants here who can always pick out the best.
“I cannot take the local players who are not playing and can’t show that they are better than the players playing in Europe.
“Most of the players playing for the Super Eagles are playing regularly in their championships. They are playing at a high level over there.”
