Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr is making plans to cut his provisional team list after Monday’s friendly against DR Congo, such that a clearer picture of his final squad to the World Cup would appear before they play England at Wembley Stadium, London.
This follows feelers from the Eagles’ camp in Uyo that Rohr will drop five players from the list before their next build-up match against England on June 2, as the Franco-German coach aims to get down to the business of real team building for the Mundial.
Rohr stated at a press briefing in Uyo on Friday afternoon that five players will be dropped after the team’s friendly against DR Congo in Port Harcourt Monday.
There are presently 29 players in the camp in Uyo with Chelsea star Victor Moses to join the rest of the squad in London.
Rohr will then be expected to name his final 23-man squad for Russia 2018 a day before the FIFA deadline of June 4, ahead of the team’s final test game against Czech Republic in Austria.
