Another day, another trophy for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
UEFA.com have today confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has won the UEFA 2018 Goal of the Season award. Ronaldo has won the top price for his incredible overhead volley for Real Madrid against Juventus in the Champions League.
Famously, Juve’s fans clapped Ronaldo for his sublime goal in the Allianz Arena. There were 346,915 total votes in the UEFA poll. Cristiano Ronaldo won the poll with almost 200,000 votes.
That haul saw him finish well clear of Marseille star Dimitri Payet in second, with the Frenchman claiming the runner-up spot for his effort in a 5-2 Europa League win over RB Leipzig.
Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid to join Juventus in the summer.
Since arriving at the Bianconeri, Ronaldo is yet to open his account in Serie A. Ronaldo did bag an assist however last weekend against Lazio, even if he may not have meant it.
Juventus are top of the table in Italy after two rounds of the season. Along with SPAL and Napoli, Juve have a 100% record so far.
Next weekend Juventus take on Parma on the road. Parma only have one point so far this season.
