Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has come out in a fierce attack on the referee and football’s officials in general after his controversial red card for Juventus against Valencia.
Katia Aveiro has come to the defence of her brother in explosive fashion following his straight red card in the 2-0 win at La Mestalla.
She slammed German referee Felix Brych and the assistant referees who helped make the decision after he ruffled the hair of Valencia’s Jeison Murillo.
She expressed her disdain and fury on Instagram in pretty memorable fashion…
” A football disgrace…justice will be done…they want to destroy my brother, but God never sleeps…disgraceful.”
Aveiro followed that post up with a series of images from the incident in an Instagram story that received a huge reaction on social media.
It was a very emotional moment for Ronaldo as his Champions League debut for Juventus ended in acrimonious fashion.
Juventus went on to win the match 2-0 but the fall out from the superstar’s dismissal shapes as the major talking point from the clash which was won by two Miralem Pjanic penalties.
“Surely got to appeal this,” tweeted former United teammate Rio Fedinand.
Ronaldo must to wait until next Thursday (Sept 27) to find out if he will be suspended for his return to Old Trafford. His case will be dealt with by UEFA’s disciplinary body who will decide if his red card at Valencia last night warrants more than a one-game ban.
It was the the Portuguese 11th of his career but first in the Champions League.
Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid for a whopping A$162m and was making his debut in the competition for his new club.
