Head coach of English Championship side Rotherham United Paul Wayne has praised the impact of Nigerian International Semi Ajayi in the team as the club continues their fight to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
Ajayi provided another five-star performance for The Millers in their 3 – 2 home win against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday where he scored two important goals to hand them a well-deserved win despite the nervy end to the game after Charles Mulgrew scored a 90th-minute penalty.
Ajayi scored two great headers in the game with the first coming in the second minute of the match to give the home team the lead while the second in the 83rd-minute help extend the team’s lead.
Reacting to the win and Ajayi’s goals at the post-match conference Wayne said the goals put a smile on his face. “Semi to score two headers has put a smile on my face. I give him no end of the stick. He’s got a great leap, his timing’s been a lot better and I’m pleased for him because he’s had a really good season. The overall feeling is that we could play better, but it’s all about results at this time of the season.”
Ajayi has scored three goals in his last two appearances and four in seven games also helping his team stay unbeaten in their last six outings.
