England-based Nigerian-born attacker, Sammy Ameobi has signed a new two-year contract with Bolton Wanderers, after initially spending the first half of the 2016-17 season on loan with the club.
The 26-year-old Ameobi, who has also had spells at Cardiff City and Middlesbrough, after a long spell with Newcastle United, earlier joined The Trotters permanently on a one-year deal last summer and played 36 times.
The younger brother of former Newcastle and Super Eagles striker, Shola Ameobi, has scored eight goals in a total of 60 games for Bolton since first joining on loan.
Upon signing the new deal, Ameobi, who scored four times in 36 games for Wanderers last season, including that sensational solo goal against Bristol City in February, said he was glad to make the deal.
Ameobi stated: “It’s great to have signed a new deal because this place means a lot to me. I’m really excited to be back and I can’t wait to get started.
“I spoke to the manager and he knows me very well. I get on so well with everyone here and it’s such a wonderful environment to work in. That was a huge factor in me wanting to stay here.”
