Super Eagles and AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze will miss Nigeria’s crucial AFCON 2025 qualifier against Libya at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.
Chukwueze was forced to withdraw from the squad due to an ankle injury he sustained after the Libya first leg at Uyo.
The Nigerian International has struggled for form and minutes under AC Milan coach Paulo Fonseca this season.
The former Villarreal star came on as a substitute in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Libya in Uyo but experienced discomfort towards the end of the match.
After medical assessment, Samuel Chukwueze returned to Milan for further evaluation to determine the extent of the injury.
Chukwueze’s absence leaves interim coach Augustine Eguavoen with fewer options on the right wing, but the Super Eagles can call upon players like Chidera Ejuke, Moses Simon, and Kelechi Iheanacho, though the position is not their natural one.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will likely face Libya tomorrow with a kick-off time of 8pm WAT.
