Samuel Kalu has reflected on how Bordeaux have respect for Zenit St Petersburg, but that they are not facing them this week with any sense of fear.
The French side head out to face the Group C leaders this Thursday evening for the fourth round of games from the UEFA Europa League group phase, with their winger in confident mood.
“We are not afraid of Zenit St Petersburg. They are a great team that we respect, but we are not afraid of them,” Samuel Kalu told Footballlive.ng.
“They have a great squad with great players, and when you play big matches like this you want the best players from the other team to play against you.
“How do I prepare for these games? Personally I want to play my best and help my team to win all of the matches and trophies possible.
“I prepare for UEFA Europa League matches in the usual way, the same as for a league match. There is not much difference between getting ready for one or the other.”
Bordeaux are yet to pick a point after three matches in the Pool.
