Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has attributed his team’s below par performance against MOL Vidi FC in the Europa League to fixture congestion.
After a fine start to the English Premier League season the Blues were expected to easily walk past the Hungarian club but could only manage a 1 – 0 win over the visitors courtesy of a second half strike by Alvaro Morata.
The Italian told BT Sport: “I don’t think we played well, we have done a good offensive phase and had a lot of ball opportunities but we conceded too much.
“We have to play every three days, it is very difficult and so we have to have a great mentality. There is a risk to arrive at a match without the mental power and energy. I am very happy with my squad”
Chelsea tops group C with six points and are currently unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions.
