Rotherham United utility player, Semi Ajayi is delighted to have made his home bow for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, reports Footballlive.ng.
Ajayi, 25, lasted the entire duration as the Super Eagles drew 0-0 with Uganda in an international friendly match at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Tuesday evening.
He put up a scintillating show at the packed arena as the Super Eagles failed to score in Asaba.
The former Arsenal player wrote via Instagram: “Always an honour to represent my country.”
“Grateful for the opportunity to make my home debut in front of the Nigerian fans. The support was amazing.”
Ajayi currently plays his club football for Rotherham United in the English Championship.
He played a major role in Rotherham’s League One promotion and has been a stand-out performer a division higher this term as Paul Warne’s men have kept themselves above the drop zone.
