Shooting Stars Condemn Harassment of Remo Stars Forward Sikiru Alimi by Fans

Shooting Stars Football Club has publicly denounced the reported physical harassment of Remo Stars forward, Sikiru Alimi, by unidentified fans following a recent match in Ibadan.

Alimi took to his social media handle to reveal the incident, prompting Shooting Stars to express their disappointment with the actions of the individuals involved.

In a statement posted on their official social media platform, the Oluyole Warriors condemned the behavior as “hugely unacceptable” and emphasized their respect for Alimi as a professional player, especially considering his past association with their club.

The club’s General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, personally reached out to Alimi to address the incident. Expressing regret over the situation, Shooting Stars apologized to Alimi and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the integrity of the sport. Lawal stated, “If it truly happened, it is hugely unacceptable and we as a club, condemn the act in its totality.”

He added, “Sikiru Alimi is a professional player who we hold in high esteem, moreso he was once our player.”

Additionally, the club’s statement mentioned, “Our regret the unfortunate incident and we use this medium to apologize to the striker, who is currently one of Nigeria’s best forwards on the domestic scene.”
