Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) has disclosed that he is enjoying a strong family atmosphere radiating through the Super Eagles’ camp, as he says the players are all ready to stand for one another.
‘Simy’ said he is very relaxed in his first ever camping experience with the Eagles, as they are all doing things in common, the other lads have taken him as a brother and the crew of coaches and backroom staff also make him feel at home.
Now that he has settled down in the Eagles, Nwankwo has declared that he is ready to give his best for the squad if given the chance by the coach, Gernot Rohr in the upcoming fixture against DR Congo.
The Crotone of Italy striker shot himself into the national team radar with a series of impressive performances for Crotone, scoring seven goals in the last set of fixtures.
The 25-year-old attacker further played down his early season struggles, saying his lack of playing time was responsible for it, but now he is only thinking of doing well with the Eagles.
“I’m ready for the national team if given the opportunity. Playing for Nigeria will obviously be an amazing feeling but like I said, only the coach can decide that.
“At the beginning, I was not starting regularly and the team was struggling generally, but now I’m delighted with the run of games.
“I believe I’m making good use of the opportunity and I hope to keep getting better,” Simy concluded.
