Levante of Spain winger, Moses Simon has laughed off the latest FIFA monthly ranking that puts Nigeria in 44th on the global level and fourth in Africa, as he believes the Super Eagles deserve more than that.
Footballlive.ng reports that Simon is full of wonderment and amazement that the world soccer governing body did not reckon with the fact that the Eagles have already qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a match to spare.
Simon said he was startled to learnt that FIFA buffs kept Nigeria static at 44th position in the global ranking and on the continent they are behind Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco.
With Senegal now the highest ranked African nation and 23rd overall, Simon said he was expecting a better ranking for Nigeria, due to the Eagles’ unbeaten run so far, after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The former SK Trencin of Slovakia and KAA Gent of Belgium winger said: “There are teams ahead of us that can’t even get a coach against us.
“We know our position in Africa and it’s same globally and only on the pitch will people get to see it.
“No matter where we are ranked we will no doubt prove it against any team on the pitch.”
